I was talking to a lady the other day who has the same problem we all have – she has a hard time finding modest church dresses. When you think about the resources we have in the multiple places to shop that is very popular (like Old Navy, Belk, and other outlets like these) it’s sort of ridiculous because we shouldn’t be having this problem. It shouldn’t be hard to find modest clothes.
However, the problem persists. There are hardly any modest church dresses out there and we end up having to mix and match, cover, layer, and do other various strategies like these to come up with a modest outfit for church we are comfortable wearing. Thankfully, there are some great places you can go (if you know where to look) that gives you the option to simply grab something and go. No covering and no layering. I want to talk about the top 5 modest church dresses you can grab right now that will be quick and easy; and you’ll look great too.
#1 – Modest Maxi Dresses
Maxi dresses have certainly been the deep well we all have been going to over the past couple of years. However, there are still problems that persist with some of these modest dresses. If you can find these at your local “popular” clothing store, you may have to check for immodest styles. For instance, the dress may be long enough, but the top portion is a little low. Now, you have to think about a covering or layering option with the dress. While this is a viable option and many ladies do it, it doesn’t qualify as an outfit you can just grab and go.
Another thing to think about when you purchase modest maxi dresses is if you find one that is modest at the top, and appears to be long enough, some designers will have long splits up the side. Not really much you can do about that unless you want to spend a couple hours sewing it up. For my petite sisters, one problem you have with maxi dresses is the length. I have some modest maxi dresses hacks for you to help that problem here. If you’re looking for modest church dresses in a maxi, you want length without the split and the top portion needs to be covered. Here’s some of our suggestions for you.
#2 – The Midi Dress
Located a little below the knee, the midi dress is a cute way to portray elegance and class when you go to that special occasion. No matter what kind of modest church dresses you’re looking for, they all have the same problems I mentioned above. If by some chance you are able to find the right length, another part of the dress will be wrong, forcing you to take action and layer or cover up. This is one of the reasons I started this business in the first place – to give you options that are already created in your closet which makes for a quick and easy wardrobe choice. Here’s some of the midi dresses we have that won’t give you a fit.
#3 – Mix & Match Outfits
Probably one of my favorite things to do when I go to church is mix and match. Clearly, Sunday is the day when everyone wears their dressy items, but if your church goes casual or doesn’t really dress up on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday night service, then a mix/match outfit is probably the best (and funnest) way to go.
This is where you pair your favorite top with a cute skirt and shoes. Anything can happen here and you can really have fun with your wardrobe styles. There are lots of various options you can do for your modest church dresses on these nights, plus, they can also be versatile for a date night, shopping day, or just a hang out session with your friends.
